Quarterly Reports Required for Homeschooling
Need a Homeschool Consultant?
On or before the dates specified by the parent on the IHIP (Individualized Home Instruction Plan), a quarterly report for each child should be provided by the parent to the school district. The quarterly report should contain the following:
1) the number of hours of instruction during said quarter;
2) a description of the material covered in each subject listed in the IHIP;
3) either a grade for the child in each subject or a written narrative evaluating the child's progress (Note: Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory, Improving, etc are fine);
4) a written explanation in the event that less of the coursework was covered than was planned for that quarter (Note: I personally do not specify what work will be covered in each quarter on my IHIP. I only specify what will be covered the whole school year. This should not be a problem for most school districts. Do not make more work for yourself than you need to!)
